Browser Benchmarks

NFL Pool 2009

I bet you think I forgot about the NFL Pool this year. While it is true that I have had other things on my mind (moving to a new home, selling my other, Jack getting ready for the first grade, trying to figure out a date to get married, etc.), I have been set aside enough energy to defend my title for the 2009 NFL Season. It starts again tonight at 8:30 p.m. with Tennessee traveling to Pittsburgh to play the Super Bowl Champs. The rules are simple. 1. American Idol Season 8

Just some random thoughts about the Season 8 finale last night. First, I am not an avid fan (not like DeeDee, my fiancee).  I am a casual observer who prefers to watch the Orlando Magic come from 15-point halftime deficit to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers by one. Rashard Lewis!! As a casual observer, I think this was a good season.  After all, the show is called "American Idol" and, without question, a few of the past winners do not qualify as very "idol-like" (Taylor Hicks... are you kidding me?).  Honestly, I think the final two contestants were deserving. Gino's Bar & Restaurant is my favorite place for Italian food in Tampa.  I love Italian food.  I do not claim to be an expert.  I have dated an Italian girl whose grandmother made the best sauce I have ever tasted.  Still, I don't think that qualifies me as an expert. I would like to add I am not a fan of the more popular Italian chain restaurants.  Frankly, if I never ate at Carrabba's and Olive Garden again, I would feel no loss at all.
