Sooo Good Southern Barbeque Review

Hi Guys and Gals,

Sooo Good Southern Bar B Que on Hillsborough Ave, Tampa
Without question, I have been judging barbeque more than 25 years.  When I was 17 years old, I took a job with Lupton’s Fatman’s BBQ as a busboy.  Within in a year, I was cooking on the dinner shift.  Later, I became a catering supervisor and started cooking for hundreds (and occasionally thousands) in one day.

This started my education with barbecue.  I continue to educate myself and have built my own smoker.

About 18 months ago, I became a Certified Barbeque Judge with the Kansas City Barbeque Society.  I liked the course.  It taught me a lot.  Mostly, it confirmed my own personal rating about barbeque because other like-minded people rate things roughly the same way my taste buds rate ribs, pork, chicken and brisket.

With this in mind, I REALLY wanted Sooo Good Barbeque to be good.  REAL GOOD.  Primarily, it is REALLY close to my house, and it would be great to drive over and get some quality eats on a whim.

Warning to all BBQ restaurants:  Don’t have pulled pork on your menu and then server me chopped pork with sauce all over it.  NOOOOO!

This is what Sooo Good does.

I have also sampled their ribs and turkey. I was expecting the ribs to be really good because I did like the barbecue sauce and I was hoping the ribs were moist and basted with their sauce.   Not happening.

I Sooo wished I could give a  good review, you have no idea how much.

But, Sooo Good Southern Barbeque is not sooo good.  It is kinda sooo average.
