Tomorrow starts the 2008 NFL Season. Thank goodness! Once again, I am hosting the NFL Pool so my friends and I can forego giving our email addresses to companies (like ESPN) that will bombard us with marketing emails for the next century. Thinking back, I think I have been hosting a pool for 12 years now. I think (although I am not sure about this) the inaugural NFL Pool was back in 2000. So, what are my predictions for the season? The Best Race Ever

I could not believe the race I saw last night. I certainly do not follow the sport of swimming on a daily basis (that privilidge is given to the NFL), but I love watching our U.S. Olympic athletes compete on the biggest stage in the world. Last night as I witnessed the American men capture the gold medal for swimming by winning the 4x100 freestyle event, I could not help myself. I stood up and went nuts in my house. I think this is going to be the wildest draft in memory. The Buccaneers will be operating under the possibility that none of their draft picks will be a starter. With the free agent acquisitions to add depth to the roster, the Buccaneers will most likely be taking the best player available on their board. It is unlikely they draft a linebacker, safety or tight end this year, but the rest of the field is wide open. Round 1 Best Bet: Donnie Avery, WR, Houston.
