Our Wedding

Married, January 30, 2010 DeeDee and I decided long ago that a traditional wedding was not the approach we wanted to take. We both agreed that Chantel and Mike’s (my sister and her husband) wedding was more to our liking. Chantel and Mike got married at Circles Bistro in South Tampa. A friend married them. The food was excellent and the cake was from Wright’s Gourmet in South Tampa. Like Chantel and Mike, we decided to check out some restaurants that we enjoy including Gino’s,... [Read more]

Parenting Recommendation: LearningCents Bank

LearningCents So, I was talking to a parent who thought this was a great idea and thought I should add it to my blog. Over a year ago, I purchased a LearningCents Bank for Jack.  The bank features Save, Spend, and Give cylinders in which kids deposit their allowance each week. NFL Pool 2009

Free NFL Pool I bet you think I forgot about the NFL Pool this year. While it is true that I have had other things on my mind (moving to a new home, selling my other, Jack getting ready for the first grade, trying to figure out a date to get married, etc.), I have been set aside enough energy to defend my title for the 2009 NFL Season. It starts again tonight at 8:30 p.m. with Tennessee traveling to Pittsburgh to play the Super Bowl Champs. The rules are simple. 1. All players must complete... [Read more]

American Idol Season 8

Kris Allen/Adam Lambert Just some random thoughts about the Season 8 finale last night. First, I am not an avid fan (not like DeeDee, my fiancee).  I am a casual observer who prefers to watch the Orlando Magic come from 15-point halftime deficit to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers by one. Rashard Lewis!! As a casual observer, I think this was a good season.  After all, the show is called “American Idol” and, without question, a few of the past winners do not qualify as very “idol-like”... [Read more]
