DeeDee, Jack and I went to Boizao Brazilian Steakhouse on Sunday. The restaurant has complimentary valet parking. Nice. We proceeded to go inside and inform the hostess we had a 7:30 reservation. She said that it would be a few minutes. While we were waiting, others were being seated who arrived earlier that we did. No problem. INGREDIENTS 6 egg yolks 6 tablespoons white sugar, divided 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract 2 1/2 cups heavy cream 2 tablespoons brown sugar Preheat oven to 375 degrees Beat egg yolks, 4 tablespoons sugar and vanilla in a mixing bowl until thick and creamy. Pour cream into a saucepan and stir over low heat until it almost comes to boil. After pouring a little of the hot cream into the egg yolk mixture and whisking briskly, pour the cream/yolk mixture into the rest of the cream and whisk. There will be a lot of foam on the top. INGREDIENTS 1 8-ounce package of Pepperidge Farm Chessmen Butter Cookies 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened 1/3 cup powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 12-ounce container frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided 1 1/4 or so cups of orange curd (see recipe below) 2 teaspoons grated orange rind 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice INSTRUCTIONS Stir together cookie crumbs and butter; press evenly in bottom and up sides of a 9-inch pieplate.
