220 East

This weekend I went to 220 East on Davis Island Boulevard for the third time in recent memory.  Everytime we go, we have a good meal.  The service is always good.  They have an excellent menu.  The price is is not expensive, but its not cheap either.  I like it. First, DeeDee and I have been known to split a bottle of wine in our day.  I hate buying a bottle of wine in a restaurant because restaurants seem to mark up an ordinary bottle of wine WAY TOO MUCH.  220 East has a good selection plus the price for a bottle is reasonable.  That's a big plus for me. Boizao Steakhouse Review

DeeDee, Jack and I went to Boizao Brazilian Steakhouse on Sunday.  The restaurant has complimentary valet parking.  Nice. We proceeded to go inside and inform the hostess we had a 7:30 reservation.  She said that it would be a few minutes. While we were waiting, others were being seated who arrived earlier that we did.  No problem. Orange Dream Pie

INGREDIENTS 1 8-ounce package of Pepperidge Farm Chessmen Butter Cookies 1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted 1 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened 1/3 cup powdered sugar 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1 12-ounce container frozen whipped topping, thawed and divided 1 1/4 or so cups of orange curd (see recipe below) 2 teaspoons grated orange rind 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice INSTRUCTIONS Stir together cookie crumbs and butter; press evenly in bottom and up sides of a 9-inch pieplate. INGREDIENTS 1 (15 ounce) can pumpkin puree 4 eggs 1 cup vegetable oil 2/3 cup water 3 cups white sugar 3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 teaspoons baking soda 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
