August Rush

I enjoyed watching the movie, August Rush, recently. I am not sure about what "so-called" experts liked or disliked about this movie, but I was incredibly impressed with the music. Fantastic! I used to play guitar everyday. I am really not a particularly good guitar player, but I have a deep appreciation for those who play well. I was most impressed with the musicianship on this video. The Best Race Ever

I could not believe the race I saw last night.  I certainly do not follow the sport of swimming on a daily basis (that privilidge is given to the NFL), but I love watching our U.S. Olympic athletes compete on the biggest stage in the world. Last night as I witnessed the American men capture the gold medal for swimming by winning the 4x100 freestyle event, I could not help myself.  I stood up and went nuts in my house.  I was alone except for my 5 year old son, Jack, sleeping a couple rooms away. John Adams on HBO

Last Sunday, HBO started a new mini-series, John Adams, with Paul Giamatti and Laura Linney.  I realize there are millions of people that would rather watch Gene Simmons Family Jewels.  I just don't fall into that category.  John Adams has A LOT going for it.  The actors are first-rate.  Tom Hanks is the executive producer, and, traditionally, I like period pieces in film (I really enjoyed the HBO mini-series, Rome).
