Boizao Steakhouse Review

DeeDee, Jack and I went to Boizao Brazilian Steakhouse on Sunday.  The restaurant has complimentary valet parking.  Nice.

We proceeded to go inside and inform the hostess we had a 7:30 reservation.  She said that it would be a few minutes.

While we were waiting, others were being seated who arrived earlier that we did.  No problem.

But, when parties were seated without reservations (walk-up diners) before the three of us.  I had a problem.  I turned to DeeDee who is clearly more practical than I will ever be.  She mentioned that the walk-in diners were in groups of two and that the restaurant had two-top tables available.

Hmm… ok.  Makes sense.

Another family walked in and were seated almost immediately.  Ridiculous.  Why have reservations?  I wanted to leave, but DeeDee talked me out of leaving since we had already waited for so long.

Finally, we were seated at 8:15pm.

I have to tell you.  The food was tasty.  It was nothing special.  In fact, the quality of the meat was not particularly good.  It certainly was not like going to a Bern’s or Charley’s Steakhouse.

The only thing similar to Bern’s or Charley’s was the price.  ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  THE BILL IS HOW MUCH?  YIKES!

Luckily, we had a coupon.  Still, the price was approximately $100 and Jack was FREE.

Needless to say, I will not be returning.

If I am going to drop a C-note, we are going someplace nice with good service NOT Boizao.

  • Hey - it's Anna!

Nice blog - I have one too - I'm sure you can get to it now that I have commented.

I HATE Boizao. A group of us went there last year for my husband's birthday and we spent about $1500 total. It was probably the worst service I have ever had. We ordered a bottle of wine and the server put it on the table and left it there like he expected us to open it ourselves. WTF?

I will NEVER go there again. There are better places in Tampa where you can spend that amount of money and have better food and service!
